“Wait two months and Gordon Smith will flip again. Smith has proven he can’t be trusted on this issue. His version of getting us out of Iraq is to publicly claim to oppose the war, but vote more than 20 times to authorize, prolong and fund it, including multiple yes votes after he said in December he could no longer support the war. Oregon needs a senator who has the courage to do the right thing every year, not just in an election year.
Again, Gordon Smith simply can’t be trusted on this issue. Look at who he endorses to lead our country, John McCain. The number one proponent for staying in Iraq is Smith’s number one choice for president. Smith’s actions speak louder than his words, and his actions and endorsements keep us in Iraq.”

The following is scarasim about impeachment. This is about Libby and why I will vote against Smith. Its a stretch I know. Remember till Smith saw the 2006 election results he voted down the line with Bush's failed policies.
Has Smith commented on the Libby FULL Pardon that Libby will surely get?

Open Letter to Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney;
Dear Mr. Bush and Dear Mr. Cheney;
SUBJ; The Libby Case and resulting fallout.
To keep your selves free from prosecution and the possibility of incarceration, Mr. Bush you could pardon Mr. Cheney for any crimes committed in the past and for future discoveries of crimes.
Then you Mr.Bush resign and you Mr. Cheney serve the remainder of Mr. Bush's term.
Mr. Cheney you, the now newly appointed President, would give the same pardons to Bush. End of problems and future witch hunts.
Neither of you, Mr Bush or Mr. Cheney, would be prosecuted or worse sent to jail.
Remember Mr.Cheney you have a serious heart problem. You could be incapacitated at a moments notice with a long recovery time. It would appear that time could be of the essence.
While you are at it please pardon the Border Agents and Lynndie England. It is the only fair and just thing to do.
Tongue in cheek? Maybe, just a little. However we are very serious about the Lynndie and Border Agent Pardons.
