Stop Gordon Smith Campaign expands its online effort
The Stop Gordon Smith Campaign is inviting all Oregonians to click in, search through and blog on www.StopGordonSmith.com, the revamped interactive home for the Stop Gordon Smith Campaign.
“If you want to find out about Gordon Smith’s more than 20 votes for the Iraq War, the gap between his votes and his quotes, or why he votes with President Bush 90 percent of the time, it’s all here,” DPO Chair Meredith Wood Smith said. “Click in, search through, and blog on. We will frequently update the site with the latest information on Smith and his voting record.”
The website is the interactive home for the Stop Gordon Smith Campaign. After launching the site in April and drawing more than 700 members in one week, the Stop Gordon Smith Campaign is expanding its online presence.
The revamped site offers a blog, background sections on Smith’s abysmal record on a woman’s right to choose, the environment, the Iraq War, his consistent support for President Bush, the gap between his votes and his quotes and other issues. Activists can also sign up for email alerts, send a letter to the editor, forward information to a friend and contribute money to the eventual Democratic nominee.
Already over $1,300 has been donated and is being held in escrow for the nominee.
As other campaign issues, information and interactive opportunities arise, they will be added to the website.
“The Stop Gordon Smith campaign will be one of the most interactive, grassroots efforts in Oregon politics,” Smith said. “I hope every Oregonian will take the time to click in and sign up to defeat President Bush’s Personal U.S. Senator.”
The campaign has already signed up more than 850 members who have written letters to the editor, called into talk radio, blogged on Smith’s record, contributed money and recruited new members into the group.
