Red Senator In A Blue State

In less than 10 minutes, Secretary of State Bill Bradbury declares why Oregonians should not be fooled by Gordon Smith’s campaign rhetoric.

Smith has a history of campaigning as Blue in Oregon, but voting Red in Washington, DC, Bradbury says.

Bradbury ran against Smith in 2002. He says Smith’s 2008 campaign conversions remind him of their 2002 contest.

In this October 5, 2007 speech at the DPO’s Oregon Summit in Sunriver, Bradbury addressed Smith’s:

-opposition to pulling troops out of Iraq
-dangerous environmental record supporting drilling in ANWR, opposing alternative energy and earning atrocious grades from environmental interests
-40 percent score from Disabled American Veterans
-90 percent voting record with President Bush

Gordon Smith has said he's against the war, but where are the votes to prove it? Smith has already voted four times since May to keep our troops in Iraq. No wonder he refuses to hold any public town halls or meetings in Oregon.

I'm not afraid to say what needs to be said: Gordon Smith is a goddamn liar.

Oregon's biggest problem - Gordon Smith.

This was one of the best speeches at the Summit. Bill really laid out the difference between the Red Gordon and the (fake) Blue Gordon. Well worth watching!

Gordon Smith can't have it both ways. Gordon now says he wants to end the war in Iraq but he also supports John McCain for president who promises to continue the war indefinitely. Which Gordon are we supposed to believe?
