Gordon Smith In Seaside This Weekend. Will He Bring The Truth With Him?
This Saturday afternoon in Seaside, Gordon Smith has his chance.
As the Say Anything Senator speaks at the conservative Dorchester Conference, he can work to regain Oregonians' trust by telling the truth about the Klamath River water diversion that destroyed coastal fishing communities.
He can tell his constituents he’s sorry for bending the facts on Klamath River.
He can admit to coordinating with Vice President Dick Cheney and the White House when they made a political decision to abuse environmental and commercial resources to get him re-elected in 2002. After all, in 2001, Smith demonstrated clear and direct knowledge of Cheney’s involvement and ran TV ads touting his relationship with the White House.
And he can apologize to the coastal fishing communities whose economies he devastated.
“Gordon Smith will visit the coast this weekend, but will he bring the truth with him?” DPO Communications Director Marc Siegel asked. “Will Gordon Smith continue to bend facts and distort his Klamath River record? Or will he finally admit to his coordination with Dick Cheney and to the damage they caused coastal fishing communities?”
