Hide The Broom. Take The Poll.

Watch for the rug and the broom.

As Gordon Smith’s opponent emerges on Tuesday, Smith will re-energize his campaign to sweep his real record under the rug. He’ll have to convince Oregonians he’s on their side, not the special interests. He’ll have to convince Oregonians to believe him, after he's already broken their trust.

Take our poll and let us know what part of his record you think Smith will try to hide. We will release the results after the primary.

What Will Smith Try To Sweep Under The Rug?

-The fact that he’s allowed special interests in Washington, D.C. to turn him into a vending machine for votes?

-The fact that he opposes Democratic U.S. Senator Ron Wyden on every important issue facing Oregon, from Iraq to climate change to health care?

-The fact that he staunchly opposes a woman's right to choose? He’s earned 0 percent scores - yes, 0 percent - from pro-choice groups in arguably the most pro-choice state in the country.

-The fact that even his supporters don't trust him?

Vote now!

I'm pro-choice. Both from my religion and morally, your arrogance over me is astounding.

As is, this is a little too simplified for me. I get it, Gordon is bad, and Dems are good. I even believe it for the most part. However, I am tired of generalizations and innuendo from either party.
It is time to discuss actual programs and issues, not smears, dammit! How about Gordon's actual stand on (1) HealthCare including mental healthcare, (2) Keeping the rich folks tax break, (3) Iraq & Iran, etc., (4) Social Security & Medicare/Rx, (5) Homelessness, (6) Women's right to choose, (7) Exactly how he has been a special interest vendor, (8) and on and on, you get my point.
Believe it or not, many people are NOW interested in more detail than can fit in a corporate TV 10-30 second commercial!

I can't vote on this - some options just too vague.
